Speaking after Russia accused the West of "encouraging provocations with weapons of mass destruction", Mr Kelin denied Moscow would use nuclear weapons in Ukraine. Mr Kelin claimed Britain played a role in an attack on its warships - warning the country is "too deep" in the Ukraine war. Yesterday, a Russian-installed official in Kherson said their forces would "most likely leave for the left bank" of the Dnipro River, urging civilians to evacuate. In recent weeks there has been some speculation that Russia may withdraw from the city of Kherson. "Now, of course, those who live in Kherson should be removed from the zone of the most dangerous actions, because the civilian population should not suffer," RIA quoted Mr Putin as saying during a meeting with pro-Kremlin activists. However, Ukrainian forces have long-trailed a counteroffensive to take back control. Russia declared that it had annexed the region in September and the city of Kherson is the largest Ukrainian city under Moscow’s control.
